Projektwoche Irland 6CD 2015

Irland 6D 2015And it never rained in Southern Ireland!

– as long as the travelling angels of 6C/D were totally immersing into English language and Irish culture in Bray from October 8th– October 15th, 2015. Guided by their teachers, M.Ofenauer and Ms.Parrer, the students set off to explore historic Irish monuments, like Glendalough and Wicklow Jail, Irish urban and sports life in Dublin and the Irish landscape by doing the Bray Cliffwalk, the Bray Beachwalk and repeatedly taking the Dart to Dublin along the coastline. Morning (and afternoon classes) in ATC language school were intense, so were afternoon and evening activities. Our feet hurt from walking and dancing, but the warm hospitality of our Irish hostfamilies helped us to recover and gather new strength for upcoming adventures. Back in Austria we still hear the sound of Irish music and we will keep the memories of Irish friendliness dear in our hearts!
Go raibh maith agaibh! Thank you Eire for a wonderful week!

There the students were put up with local host families who catered for them during that time. (mehr …)

English Project Week 2015

This week (March 9th – 13th. 2015) the students of year 4 were enjoying an English Project week,  a week of total immersion into the English language. It was both amusing and rewarding for the students  to play games, participate in activities  and do projects speaking to and listening to natives from a variety of English speaking countries throughout the whole  morning.  The projects were presented in a  presentation party on  Friday.  Classes. Presentation Party

In Molly Malone’s Fair City …

One week of full immersion into Irish culture, lifestyle and the English language – that was this year’s language week of classes 6C and 6D together with their teachers Johannes Eichhorn, Silvia Zeller and Doris Sommer.

Our enjoyable but still exhausting days always started with morning classes with native teachers at ATC Language School in the city centre. The afternoons and evenings were enriched by a great variety of activities and excursions such as Irish dancing, a visit of the home of Gaelic sports (Croke Park Stadium), Glendalough, and Kilmainham Gaol (jail) – the historic site that led us even deeper into Irish history. A breathtaking cliff walk on the Howth peninsula and a few hours on Malahide’s sandy beaches rounded off our Irish experience. Our Irish hosts welcomed us with warm hospitality, which made it even harder to say goodbye.

English Language Week 6AB in Bray, Ireland

6AB-Irlandreise-Mai-2014-Wicklow21 After arriving on Monday in front of our language school we were all excited to be picked up by our host families. In spite of cultural differences we were all very lucky to live with nice families and nobody had any problems. After long days they provided us with a good dinner an encouraged us to use our English skills by involving us in conversations. (mehr …)

The Gruffalo Party

GruffaloOn Friday 11th April class 1E presented the play „The Gruffalo“ in the library. Parents, brothers and sisters were impressed by the great performance of the young and talented children. The show, the music, the costumes and masks contributed to a successful evening. Afterwards we all enjoyed home-made Gruffalo cakes in the school’s Treffpunkt.

8C goes AMS

DSC07444On Wednesday, December 18th, the 8C attended a training session for job interviews at AMS Melk. After Ms Froeschl had welcomed us warmly, Ms. Ayse Bürgmann told us something about jobs in the EU, how to find them and what EURES is (EURopean Employment Service). We were given some background information about working abroad. Then the main part, the English workshop, started. Greg Eastman, a South African (ex tennis pro), and Dave Baker (a British golf pro) explained how to write the perfect CV and how to behave properly in a job interview. At the end we had the chance to implement the strategies in role plays.  Photos
