English only! (Update)

From 22nd February to 26th February, the students of year four were enjoying an English project week, a week of total immersion into the English language!
Working on various projects, playing games, speaking and listening to natives from different English speaking countries was not only good fun but also rewarding. The projects were presented on an exhibition on Friday (5th and 6th lesson).

English Language Week 6AB in Bray, Ireland

6AB-Irlandreise-Mai-2014-Wicklow21 After arriving on Monday in front of our language school we were all excited to be picked up by our host families. In spite of cultural differences we were all very lucky to live with nice families and nobody had any problems. After long days they provided us with a good dinner an encouraged us to use our English skills by involving us in conversations. (mehr …)

6AB in Eire

Classes 6A/B spent an exciting and actually quite intensive language week together with their teachers Parrer and  Sommer in Bray and Dublin. After school with their native teachers Eileen, Colette and Sean, our students explored Dublin with a guide and on their own, saw the Guiness Storehouse, visited the notorious Kilmainham Gaol (jail), and saw the world-famous monastery complex Glendalough in authentic Irish rain. Also a visit of Croke Park stadion, home of Irish games such as Gaelic football and Hurling, was part of the program.  A cliff walk along the coast from Bray to Greystones was another highlight of the week. In the evenings we did fun activities such as Irish dance, bowling and spent an evening in the cinema. Above all, we experienced the friendliness and hospitality of the Irish. Thank you Eire for a wonderful week!

English Project Week, March 11th–15th – Final Presentations

english trainersLet us sing and celebrate – our English Project Week was great ! We, the 4th forms of Stiftsgymnasium Melk, really enjoyed last week. 8 English trainers from Great Britain, America and South Africa taught us not only their mother tongue but also their culture. It was so amusing playing funny games and doing awesome projects which we finally presented on Friday . We really improved our English – because we deeply immersed into it! Learning English can be so much fun! Some impressions:
