Ar thuras scoile chuig Éirinn (The 6A and 6B on a language project week in Ireland.)

Bray 13The 6A and 6B forms, guided by their English teachers Angela Stadlmann and Armin Penn, spent the week from 6th to 13th March 2015 on a language project week in Bray, a small coastal town south of Dublin. There the students were put up with local host families who catered for them during that time.

In the morning our students were lectured by native teachers of the ATC language school, but also did individual fieldwork on various aspects of Irish life, which was presented at the end of the week. The location of the school building directly on the long beach in Bray offered numerous activities for the breaks during the classes. The rest of the time (afternoons, evenings, weekend) was filled with a variety of activities and excursions such as Irish dancing, listening to live Irish music in a pub, bowling, a guided tour through Dublin, visits to several museums, taking the scenic cliff walk from Bray to Greystones and going on a trip to Wicklow jail and Glendalough monastery.

At the beginning we were quite lucky with the weather, but in the second half of the week the Irish climate showed its true colours with lots of wind and rain. Nevertheless it was a wonderful week with lots of unforgettable impressions. (photos)
